INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON “THE EUROPEAN UNION’S EXTERNAL ACTION IN TIME OF CRISIS” – 28/29 NOVEMBER

The University of Granada, together with the ESIL Interest Group on the EU as a Global Actor, is organizing a Conference on ‘The European Union’s External Action in Times of Crisis’, which will take place on 28-29 November 2013 in the Granada Faculty of Law.

All members are warmly invited to participate in this Forum which will analyse the legal framework applicable to the European Union’s external action after the Lisbon Treaty, taking into account the experience of the last years.

UCL Workshop – 8 November – Smarter EU Sanctions?

This is to inform members of the Interest Group about a one-day workshop on 8 November, at the Faculty of Laws, University College London, on EU sanctions policies.  The workshop is convened by Piet Eeckhout and Maya Lester (Brick Court Chambers).  Speakers include Sheikh Kadi, UN Ombudsperson Kimberly Prost and CJEU Vice-President Koen Lenaerts.  The workshop is by invitation only, and places are strictly limited.  Members of the Interest Group are none the less most welcome to attend.
